BSSRA Fletcher cup .22 rifle shot at 25 yards indoor.
We struggled with a team this year due to a combination of ill health and holidays and the Royal Wedding and not at all to do with a lack of practice, however our numbers are dwindling and new members unlikely as the school’s indoor range is not used for inter-schools shooting as once it was.
The team comprised of
JH Croxton BR Walford A Reynolds J Palmer E Bedell top score 92
Nick Peters shot a very good 98 but arrived too late to be counted. We scored a 434 /500. I thank all of the above for attending a good day.
Bisley 14July 2011 7.62mm Full bore shot at 500 yards
Bisley is regarded as a major focal point for the sport of shooting, both nationally and internationally and we are privileged to shoot there. I arrived with plenty of time for a ritual cup of tea and cake on a warm summer’s afternoon with our veteran’s team. We checked our 7.62 rifles for cobwebs and anything else we could blame a bad score on, as other teams relaxed in Gazebos with chilled drinks and state-of-the-art equipment, with blackboards scoreboards proudly displaying their schools’ scores for the day. I looked at our groundsheet and old off-cut carpet and decided that would take the blame for any poor performance ….. not a lack of practice!
We managed to assemble a team which did well and the results are as follows.
John Walker 43.2 Adrian Reynolds 43.2 Brian Walford 44.1 Paul Duxbury 49.3 Mike Wood 50.5 a 'full house' again and this years inter team cup winner. Well done.
A much improved result from last year and a big thank you to the team who made the effort to attend. Adrian Reynolds
